Analysis of Possible Genome-Dependence of Mutation Rates in Genetic Algorithms

چکیده
The performance of the evolutionary algorithms depends strongly upon the combined eeect of the operators (e.g. mutation) and the mappings from genotype to phenotype space and phenotype to t-ness space. We demonstrate, with the example of the canonical Genetic Algorithm (cGA) for parameter optimization, that the right choice of the mutation operator should depend on the genom position and we show that generally point-mutation alone might not be suucient for the particular binary mapping in the cGA. We take up the idea from Evolution Strategy to mutate via addition of normally distributed random numbers and construct the point-mutation operator in a way to resemble this on average. This concrete approach for genetic algorithms is accompanied by more general remarks on the analysis of evolutionary algorithms in the rst and the last section of this paper.

Association of mtDNA mutation with Autism in Iranian patients
The autism spectrum disorders (ASD) are amongst the most heritable complex disorders. Although there have been many efforts to locate the genes associated with ASD risk, many has been remained to be disclosed about the genetics of ASD. Scrutiny's have only disclosed a small number of de novo and inherited variants significantly associated with susceptibility to ASD. These only comprise a small ...
متن کاملO-36: Genome Haplotyping and Detection of Meiotic Homologous Recombination Sites in Single Cells, A Generic Method for Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis
Background: Haplotyping is invaluable not only to identify genetic variants underlying a disease or trait, but also to study evolution and population history as well as meiotic and mitotic recombination processes. Current genome-wide haplotyping methods rely on genomic DNA that is extracted from a large number of cells. Thus far random allele drop out and preferential amplification artifacts of...
متن کاملThe Introduction of a Heuristic Mutation Operator to Strengthen the Discovery Component of XCS
The extended classifier systems (XCS) by producing a set of rules is (classifier) trying to solve learning problems as online. XCS is a rather complex combination of genetic algorithm and reinforcement learning that using genetic algorithm tries to discover the encouraging rules and value them by reinforcement learning. Among the important factors in the performance of XCS is the possibility to...

متن کاملA Novel Experimental Analysis of the Minimum Cost Flow Problem
In the GA approach the parameters that influence its performance include population size, crossover rate and mutation rate. Genetic algorithms are suitable for traversing large search spaces since they can do this relatively fast and because the mutation operator diverts the method away from local optima, which will tend to become more common as the search space increases in size. GA’s are base...
